Thank you to everyone who joined us Wednesday night.
Michael Ammaturo and Noosh’Anna, co-founders of Bendicoot.com, shared practical insights on remote work that you can apply today:
Top takeaways:
You don’t need to know how to code
As said by Michael, “tech companies are not solely programming houses”. They operate just as a normal company would, which means there are many non technical roles out there such as HR, sales, and so on.
Warm introductions beat cold resumes
Throughout their presentation, Michael and Noosh stressed the importance of building your network. Because chances are, your next job will come from someone you know. Especially in tech.
Remote work is still on the rise
The two acknowledged the pandemic boom in remote work jobs. With return to office mandates, and many companies returning to normal, it may seem like remote work positions came crashing down. But they noted that remote work positions are still 3-4% higher than pre-pandemic levels.
Remote work etiquette matters
A good webcam, eye contact, facial expression, and appropriate attire all make a difference in how you come across on calls.
